Rev. Dr. Jonathon Brown is the Lead Pastor of Pillar Church in Holland, MI, a multi-site and historic congregation situated in the nexus of action between the campus of Hope College and the downtown Holland corridor. Jon joined the Pillar team 2012 after nearly 10 years as the Sr. Pastor of the First Reformed Church in Oak Harbor, WA northwest of Seattle 

He is the proud father of 4 daughters, Lydia, Tabitha, Miriah and Ava.  He and his beloved wife Kristyn have been married for 24 years. If he’s not with his family or preaching, he’s thinking about his family or preaching or maybe reading, running, golfing, watching college football, and most other sports or riding his bike. Jon is also the Director of the Bast Center for Christian Proclamation, a collaborative effort between Pillar Church, Hope College and Western Theological Seminar to nurture compelling preaching for the church. He has taught preaching and pastoral leadership at Western Theological Seminary and has been the keynote speaker of various discipleship events and preaching conferences. Jon is the author of a book titled “Missionary Preaching for a Missionary Congregation.” 

His heartbeat is that more and more people would follow Christ in community on mission.
